TLDR: cross contamination and health concerns with this restaurant. Whoever owns this place needs to take food safety training seriously and have their staff rigorously trained. They clearly have no training on cross contamination. Unrefrigerated eggs, bacon and egg fluids all over counters and on dirty gloves, gloves aren’t being changed so the same gloves are then touching bagels and cream cheese. Their “pasteurized” egg liquid needs to be refrigerated and can only be out short periods of time (under two hours). We were afraid of being made sick at this restaurant with witnessing how things are being ran, especially now with everything going in the food system currently. We quickly observed so many health violations, and worst of all is the “manager” said they were told by the owner to do things this way. The workers are totally unconcerned with sanitation. They’re working in a very disorganized manner with no visible process or role designation, without what seems to be any consideration or understanding of cross contamination and food safety standards. Went on Mother’s Day morning (a known day popular for family breakfasts) and the waiting line was crazy and all of the kid friendly flavors were sold out (before 9AM). And THEN they only gave us 5 of our 6 bagels (didn’t notice until home). How hard is it to count to 6?? The staff sucks. Bagels are the best in a brick-and-mortar in GR, but damn the service is poor. (Not a new observation)

Some of the best bagels we have ever had! New to the GR area, and these were fresh and delicious. Lots of vegan options as well, and the best vegan cream cheese I have had.

I really enjoyed my bagel sandwich and hash brown everything tasted fresh and high quality. I ordered The B.E.C. on an everything bagel with light cream cheese. I have heard they have a heavy hand with the cream cheese which is amazing if you love it but I only like a little and it was perfect. The hash brown was crispy hot and delicious and a great addition to the sandwich. While it felt a tiny bit overpriced you can tell you are paying for good quality ingredients which helps justify it. The space is pretty small and when I went in the morning it was really busy. Seating can be limited so you might not get a table and there were quite a few people standing around waiting for orders. Even with the crowd they were impressively fast at getting food out. I will definitely be back again but it will probably be more of a splurge spot for a simple breakfast rather than an everyday stop. Overall great food and efficient service just be prepared for a busy cozy space.

My personal favorite when it comes to bagels in Michigan. They always have fun flavors and delicious cream cheese. The breakfast sandwiches you can customize with their bagels are also really good.
